Auckland, New Zealand – Judges’ Commendation for Sustainable Innovation awarded to BioBrew Ltd at the Sustainable Business Network Awards at The Cloud on Thursday November 24, 2012.

From humble beginnings in the Deep South, BioBrew Ltd has grown into a national company with production and distribution facilities in Southland, Otago, Canterbury, Taranaki, Waikato and Bay of Plenty. “More facilities are on the way as we establish a nationwide network delivering fresh and affordable probiotic microbial tools to NZ farms,” says company Co‐Founder Andre Prassinos.

“We have been very fortunate to receive multiple awards this year recognizing the strength of our innovation and the value we provide to our customers,” Prassinos continued.

BioBrew Ltd was named a Finalist in the small enterprise section of the Producer/Manufacturer category at this year’s Champion Canterbury Awards.

The award‐winning trend continued with BioBrew Ltd being named the Outstanding Transitional Company by the David Awards, a program dedicated to recognizing small and emerging businesses in New Zealand.

Called to the podium to receive the Judges’ Commendation for Sustainable Innovation at the SBN Awards on Thursday, Mr. Prassinos thanked BioBrew’s customer, the New Zealand farmer for their trust and for their willingness to try new methods in their farming systems. “Without the support of the New Zealand farmer, none of BioBrew’s success would have been possible,” says Prassinos.

“The recognition we have received demonstrates the strong desire across sectors for high‐quality, natural and non‐toxic options to replace the unsustainable practices of the past,” says Prassinos. “Our ongoing work with farmers and with Lincoln University keeps us at the cutting edge of practical biotechnology,” he continued, “and we intend to bring our products and knowledge to the rest of the world.”
